Lovers Rock '(Hong Kong)?
Order on behalf of a friend. Understand that there is Lover's Rock is located on Bowen Road. What are worship materials (incense, candles, etc. ..) to prepare to go and pray for a happy marriage? And what is the actual process of prayer. My gf goes here early and not quite sure how to go about offering prayers in the rock lovers. It would be great if anyone can offer ideas to offer prayers and lovers rock. Thank you!
Pray for a husband! Every 20 August, women from Hong Kong, traditionally visit Lover's Rock in the Mid-Levels to leave offerings of food, pray to the gods for the class, wealthy husbands for their daughters or …. sometimes by themselves! The Festival of the Seven Sisters of unmarried girls and young lovers back to 740BC. Although not as necessary to promote marriage in a modern world, remains an important date in the Chinese calendar and a spectacular event in Hong Kong. The procedure find a focal point in the lovers' Rock in Wan Chai, but there are celebrations everywhere. The festival stems from the story of a lonely weaver girl, the youngest of six sisters, who wove for her father, the Heavenly Emperor Yuk Wong. He took pity on her and left her to marry a pastor through the Milky Way, but following the union had neglected their duties so that the infuriated Emperor banned from seeing her husband – except on the seventh day of the seventh moon. Some of the rituals of the festival include needle-threading competitions and toiletries from the burning of seven groups to represent the seven sisters. As part of worship, youth women make offerings to the night sky and the two stars that represent the Cowherd and the maid. In ancient times, anxious mothers paid the expenses of his daughter in the observation rituals. Now women are more independent in many respects and the festival does not hold this urgency.
