Grubby Cinnamon

I want to know how to make a cinnamon stain to "dirty up" my Halloween and Christmas crafts?
I've seen this done to other crafts (Snowmen, holy ,…) and like the primitive / rustic look, how I can do this? some tips to help keep my crafts smells great it would be appreciated too. thanks!
Indeed the use of coffee or tea for the "grubbying up." I usually use the tea … bags boil in a large pot then put the fabric in. The longer it is the darker it gets. Once you have the look you want, drain the material and put in the dryer, "set in" the stain. You can add the vanilla and cinnamon to the water for a delicious aroma. Good luck and happy crafts!
