What is the correct mixture of kerosene oil for winter heating at home?

If temps get well below 0 degrees F., I would suggest using a straight kerosene. If you can put inside the filter on the furnace, probably can get away with straight # 2 oil. Once ran straight # 2 for several years by installing a return line that curled around of (but not contact) the exhaust pipe. That heats the oil in the tank enough to prevent freezing, but temps here are often colder than -20.
