Vanilla Oak
I agree to cut wood blinds light wood (color I do not like much) or golden oak cabinets that I love?
In the house of my husband and I just buying, the whole house is decorated with very light wood (all trim and doors). I do not like this color a lot. However, the kitchen cabinets and floor are a beautiful golden oak color. The walls are a "French vanilla" almost Beigh whitish. There is a very large open floor plan, as seen in the large kitchen all living areas (lounge, formal dining room and a side of the kitchen, and room outside the family across the kitchen). Was it a no-no to get blinds of all those living areas to match the golden oak color instead of the color of the light fittings? Our various peices of furniture are the more golden / red tones for them. "This may help to unify the open spaces? I hate to spend hundreds of dollars in wood blinds when I do not like the color, but also do not want ridicule my house! Any advice is appreciated!
Go to the oak of gold you like. Having your blinds match your floors and furniture, but not the window seat not ideal, but not ridiculous. You may have these blinds for many years and the floor and furniture. However, You can paint the trim and doors easily … and if you really hate that light wood, you probably want to do that eventually. Think about what you will want in the long term: Are you really going to live with this cut as it is, when you hate so much?
