Ancient books of the occult: where I can find them?
So you know how in any movie or TV show participation of witches, the undead, or witchcraft, is a scene where the protagonist encounters the hidden section of your local library and discovers a dusty text, Old? Well, apparently, I found that it is not so easy. I know these are fictitious accounts I am referring, but I'm desperately curious to know the equivalent of real world. But when I google occult bookstore, which I find are places to keep books of yoga and making herbal candles – this is really not what I want. I'm looking for some stuff really dark, I'm basically seeking to understand the roots of the unseen and the practice of magic and devil worship (for research) and the oldest is the source, the better. So my question – do these books actually exist? And where I can find them?
Try The Golden Bough James Frazer. This book is one of the most simple to analyze the basic logic behind the magic of many systems are in the world. Darkness "Things" that are looking for does not exist. All you find are books designed to excite people, the equivalent of horror books. The books written to sell books, where most of the content is composed on the spot. The Satanic Bible, the Necronomicon, and the writings of Aleister Crowley, are even basically new inventions, things dressed up to sound old and creepy. If you really want historical knowledge magical and not just get ripped off new era of witches who publish anything for cash, then try anthropology, folklore, religion and sections. The largest library bigger the better. You can find real books on various cults and religions, rather than fictional accounts. You'll find stories of people pulling modern hypnotism spiritualism, and a variety of parlor tricks to make people believe in magic. Once you take the modern pranksters, you get a pretty good idea of how wild higher did. You can read what we know about the various alternative religions such as Gnosticism, Manichaeism, Wicca, Kabbalah, etc, which have generally been the heart of a lot of "magic" sects and groups.
