How to soothe a sunburn?
I went to the NASCAR race on Sunday, and unfortunately I did not realize I was getting a sunburn until was too late. My shoulders, arms, chest and upper thighs are very red and painful. I've been applying some aloe gel, but it seems to be helping much with the pain or dryness of the skin. Are there any home remedy or anyone can recommend other products that I can buy to relieve pain / dryness / Small lumpy?
I have read in several different places to wet a paper towel with white vinegar and applied on your skin works wonders. When I burn my terrrrrrrible Last time we were out of vinegar – Go Figure:) If you do not have vinegar available at this time, put the gel in the fridge (mine is a "Gel" but little more freshness felt like heaven) and take some ibuprofen to help with inflammation. Drink TONS of water to help replenish water that has dried you. This will also help bring back the moisture from the skin. ***** No matter what you read, never ever ever ever ever ever ever use butter or oil (or anything similar) on a burn.
