Minwax PolyShades (one-step stain and finish all in one) in the color of your choice (I used gloss Cherry Natural 390/490)
High quality natural bristle brush
Tealight candles, 3 purple, 1 pink, 4 white

Make advent of block holders candle is a smart way to use leftover wood scraps from other projects, as Last summered € ™ s new deck or fence. Advent is a time limit for the period beginning the Sunday nearest November 30 and lasts until Christmas. The advent of the word is derives from the Latin word œadventusâ € â € â € € meaning OETB cornea. The arrival of four candles symbolize the four weeks of Advent. Normally, purple candles symbolize joy, peace and love, and went on the first Sunday of Advent second and fourth. The pink candle symbolizes hope and ignited the third Sunday. Families create advent candles arranged in or around a wreath that is either on a table or hung from the ceiling. Measure and cut with a saw four blocks of wood in the sizes listed above, or any other size, since there are no standards for the height of the holders of the Advent candle, as long as there are four. Traditionally, they are all the same size, but there is no rule. I just decided to give these wood supports a modern look.
Power on the upper surface of each of the blocks, drawing an "X" (each corner) with a pencil and a ruler to find and mark the center.
Secure the block of wood on a lathe, then make a € 1-1/4â diameter hole, as deep as the tealight candle cup in the center of it. Stop and check the little light is adjusted, and then continue drilling if necessary to adjust the depth. Repeat steps for each holder.
Sandy Wood blocks until smooth. Start with the sandpaper and finish with medium grit sandpaper fine grain. Powder with a tack cloth.
For uniform stain, first apply a layer of pre-stain to each holder of the candle. Let dry about 10 minutes. Apply a light coating (for avoid drip marks) of the one-step stain in your choice of color for each candle holders. Let each coat dry for eight hours before recoating. Usually, at least two layers are necessary for a smooth finish and polished, but additional coats may be applied for richer color. I applied four layers, one in the morning and once in the night during a period of two days. To avoid drip marks, after each application layer, wait five minutes and use upward strokes with the brush around the upper edges of the headlines.
Once the stain is dry, insert a tealight candle in each of the candle holders.
Garnish with wire party accounts if desired and let the countdown to the holidays begin. The owners will simply magnificent when displayed in a row in a buffet, through the center of a table or decorating a fireplace, or placed inside a large wreath. Light a candle each Sunday, one more the following Sunday, and so on until Christmas.
Variations:
To make Hanukkah candles, eight holders of timber cutting in the same size and height. Cut ninth (and center The Shamas) who has the highest. The blue stain, silver paint, or decorate with touches of gold, such as stars of David.
To use tapered candles, simply drill a smaller hole at the other end of the block of wood, then deliver them to use candles of different sizes.
