Alternatives to the candles in his apartment
In most (if not all) of the apartment communities, burning candles is actually against the rules. Naturally so, because if you burn candles, you can put an entire building and not to mention the lives of several people is at stake. Sound serious? It is not. The fire caused candle happen more often then you may think.
All you need is a little gust of wind, a cat, or lack of coordination, clumsy boyfriend down to that very yankee candle smell and do all the burning building. That reminds me …. do not you join renters insurance yet?

If it is of a fine perfume you are looking for, try Glade ® PlugIns ®. They come in a ton of different smells that way to keep your place smells better than a miserable candle Apple Cinnamon. Lamp oils and incense are also great options for spreading a little love scented around his apartment. The best part of all this: none of them use an open flame!
I truly hope you are not trying to be George Washington at me and read by candlelight, but if they really need candles for light … Please work your way in this century with an invention called the "bulb" You can go with electric candles, lamps, or a night light if you need to move in the middle of the night. Who need it for mood lighting? Try opening the blinds a little and let the spill of moonlight or use the iridescent sheen of calm that comes from the computer monitor. Well, I'm kidding about the monitor, but may even try to use lighting small track with dimmers. You can set the mood very well too.
And if you are using candles for heat … please … please … use something that really can provide real warmth, as the central heating unit.
When you really think about it … candles really are not as practical … so I guess … need them? The archaic old lighting appliances belonging to a wax museum.
